why hello thar, 2010.

Ok, so everyone (Vanessa, Eun Hae, Loo Sin etc.) has posted their New Year blog posts except me. So I shall do it on the first day of 2010, woo~

2009 has been a really special and different year for me. In the span of these 365, I've gotten my first taste of secondary school, entered the world of K-Pop, and basically changed from who I was on 31 December 2008.

And being the neat-freak I am, I shall write this post in sections :D

Secondary School
I remember my first day of school was an excrutiatingly embarassing one (which can be found in my January 2009 archive), and I had to sit in front of Mr Y because I was late *facepalm* It was rather awkward throughout the first few days of school, but I remember Jaslin being my very first friend in Crescent (and up till this day I still remind her of this fact whenever I need her help LOL *mean*)

Then I started sticking with Jae and Stephanie, and I think I was quite annoying DX And somehow I ended up hanging out with Loo Sin and the others XDD I think it was because I sat in front of Coleen for quite some time, then we started chatting etc.

OH OH SWIMMING LESSONS. Omg, swimming lessons were...memorable. I can still remember lining up to get a changing room (and because I was the lazy girl I still am I just changed rather than bathed XD), and how disguting the changing rooms were. But swimming lessons were fun, and at least I know how to swim now. I still hate them for turning me so tan though D:< style="font-weight: bold;">so proud when I think to that day where almost everyone stayed back to help with the Racial Harmony decorations, and that time where we took the class picture for our National Day Photography entry.

1S1'09 has really made me more mature, as well as more willing to take up responsiblity. I know some of you might think I'm bossy, rude and stubborn, and I cannot tell you how much I thank you all for willing to put up with my random mood swings and straightfoward behaviour. I also know how some of you might have been offended/hurt by me, and I really hope you can forgive me T^T

All in all, 1S1'09 is a really amazing class, one that has made me love and hate all 41 of them (but more towards the loving side :D). Although people have left, and people have come, we will be Forever41 (MWAHAHA, indirect link to Only13), and I hope that in the coming year (both our second & last one D:), we will create more awesome memories. Because we will forever be Awesomes, and Awesomes stick together.

Girl Guides
Honestly, if you'd asked 2008!Rachel, she would never have said that she would expect 2009!Rachel to join Guides. Despite the fact that I only got into Guides because I failed for my top 2 CCA choices (LAWL), I fell madly in love with Guides over the span of 2009. In the beginning, I kind of disliked it, mainly because during Telematch (aka Very First Guides Session) I got poured with cold water + salt + pepper + pasta (?!), and also because of all the testwork and footdrills, I really dreaded every Monday and Thursday.

Then came the more fun activities, for example GGC'09 and Patrol Corner. My very first Patrol Corner was quite fun, because all we did was sit in a circle and eat potato chips. Joyce, Peijun, Yimei Ma'am and Serena Ma'ma (Idk why Vivien Ma'am wasn't there ._.) were all really kind and inviting and I'm really, really happy that I got into Flowerpecker with such awesome Ma'ams and seniors.

Although the Sec 2 Guides'10 are still not as bonded as I'd like, we've made improvements and I hope that we'll be able to become much more closer in 2010 :)

July 30th 2009
July 30th 2009 is quite an important date. Not only was it the day of Show Luo's 30th birthday (heh), it was also the day when I decided to become an ELF, as well as step into the world of K-Pop. For this I have to thank Magenta for MSN-spamming me with pics and video links of Super Junior.

Also, the first time I watched the Sorry Sorry MV was after seeing the boys perform at the Golden Horse (is it? I forgot which one XD) Awards in Taiwan. Originally, I'd actually laughed out lot at the dance steps, and yet I wanted to watch them do it again (LOL) so I searched for it.

And then it got stuck in my head.

Becoming a K-Pop fan was quite an experience for me, because before that the only fangirling I did was over Show/Wang Lee Hom, and even that was only at a minimum level. I learnt quite alot, and I still think that becoming an ELF has made me become a happier person :D

I really 13elieve in Only13 (which is a family of 15), and no matter what happens in the future, I just want them to be able to still be a family, be very close friends, and still be able to have heart-to-heart chats. Because I really cannot imagine them pretending that Super Junior never existed, and neither can I.

November 25th 2009
This was the day when I decided to become a Triple S. I remember (omg, I've used this two words so many times in this blog post XD) the only reason I searched for the Love Like This MV was because of an article on allkpop, which was talking about Triple S and SHINee fans arguing over the Mubank K-Chart results. And I thought: 'Are the songs really worth it?' So I went to YouTube and searched for the MV.

Love Like This ignited my fangirl-ness (I know it's not a word D:<) for SS501, and I had a feeling Jungmin would be my bias if I ever became a fan of SS501 ~~(because his voice reminded me of Donghae's when he sang "Hey girl~")~~. And when I told this to Loo Sin, she started to spam me with video links, and a few days before GGC'09, I decided to become a Triple S (and I anticipated the fangirling over SS501 with Joyce & Kellie XDD)

December 25th 2009
Other than this date being Christmas, this was also the day when I became a Primadonna. After seeing them perform live at Seoul'd Out, I fell in love with Bing Bing Bing ~~(and also a little bit of Jonghoon)~~.

I had contemplated alot before becoming a Primadonna, because I felt so...unloyal to Suju and SS501 (XDD), and I was afraid that I would become like those fangirls who had multiple fandoms (which for some reason I do not like D:<). But then I remembered that 3 was my lucky/fave number, so I decided to become a Primadonna after Loo Sin spammed me with Jonghoon selcas (ROFL). So basically, 2009 has brought me through things that I never thought I would experience, and met people who I never would've expected to become friends with. I admit that I still have alot of shortcomings to improve on, and I hope that I'll be able to improve them by the end of this year :) To end off this post, I will post the lyrics of Super Junior's "Thank You", because it encompasses all I want to tell to everyone who I've met this year.
