I just finished this book, and I think it can be considered one of my Top 5 Cheem Books. XDD

Summary

The story basically takes place 100+ years from now, and scientists have
discovered a way for people to live forever. They have invented a pill called Longevity pills, which can help to regenerate/repair/replace
damaged cells (or something scientific like that) so that it's possible for you
to live FOREVAH. Omg uber coolness right.

But then, the government realised that overpopulation was becoming a
serious problem, because babies were getting born but nobody was dying, thus
they created something called The Declaration, which decreed
that anybody who took Longevity pills was not allowed to give birth to any
children. Majority of the people signed the Declaration, while some Opted Out.
However, there were still people who signed the Declaration but gave birth
to children. These people were put into prison and their children were put into
Surplus Halls, which were basically institutions that helped to train the
Surpluses (what the children were called) into housekeepers/servants.

I think what makes this story for captivating is the...realness of it all. XD The possibility of the story happening is very real, considering the fact that scientists are coming up with all these different medicines, and a century should be enough for them to discover a way to create Longevity pills.

I suddenly forgot about what I wanted to write. XDD But go and read this book. It's really very awesome. :D
